PLAQUE: Templepeter Church and Cemetery What remains of this ancient church has few dateable features, while the dated headstones are a reminder that the cemetery is the resting place of people born in the 17th century. During the half century since the last burial took place here in 1949 this treasure of the past had become completely obscured by vegetation. In 1990 a group of local people set themselves the task of transforming and preserving Templepeter. This plaque was erected to the memory of JOHN ESMONDE 1920-1994 who inspired and led this project.
