IE:CAR – 1700s – John Naulin/Nowlane to Germany? then to the US
On June 5, 1776, John Naulin (alias Nowlane, Noulan, Nowland, Nolan, …), a yoeman, died in Northampton, Pennsylvania at the age of 81. In the referenced record it is stated that he was born in Co. Carlow on 25 May 1695 and baptized in Dunleckney It is also stated that he was married to a Gertrud Lerch, probably in Germany, sometime around 1734.

Comment: Being baptized in Dunleckney, he probably was a Ballykealey Nolan, that line of Nolans serving the kings of Leinster, the MacMurrough-Kavanaghs who, at the time, were seated in Dunleckney.
