Comment
The most widely accepted coat of arms for modern-day Nolans is the one adopted by the Galway Nolans in the mid-1600s, appearing at the bottom of a colourized version of a Galway city map created in the early 1650s. It also appears, dated 1642, as part of a dual family crest, above the door of a Galway city house which once belonged to a Thomas Nolan.
